Thomas W. Cope, born Clearwater, Florida; admitted to the Florida Bar, 2004.
Education: Florida State University (B.A. Philosophy 2000), University of Florida College of Law (J.D., Cum Laude, 2003)
Member: The Florida Bar; St. Petersburg Bar Association, Clearwater Bar Association.
After graduating from the University of Florida with honors, Thomas Cope was employed as an Assistant State Attorney in the State Attorney’s Office of the Sixth Judicial Circuit of the State of Florida. Mr. Cope tried numerous misdemeanor cases before being promoted to a felony prosecutor, where he was also a part of the DUI manslaughter response team. Mr. Cope tried over 40 jury trials ranging from petit theft to first degree murder during his three year commitment at the State Attorney’s Office.
Mr. Cope has lived in both Spain and Costa Rica where he became fluent in Spanish. In Costa Rica, Mr. Cope worked with the Costa Rican government to implement stronger environmental regulations, and obtain more international funding for enforcement. Mr. Cope is an avid fisherman and conservationist.
Mr. Cope practices in the areas of Personal Injury and Wrongful Death litigation.
